David & Judy Silverton

Colorado Narrow Gauge in Vernon Hills! The Sararon (pronounced Sara-Ron) Railroad is in its fifth year of operation and has changed annually; either with increased track length or additional structures. The 1:20.3 scale (FN3) structures are all scratch built and are native to the Colorado narrow gauge scene. Most are currently found on the Durango & Silverton, and the Cumbres & Toltec railroads.

The most recent additions are the Cumbres Depot and Sublette Section House. A new octagonal roof was also installed on the D&RGW Standard 50,000 gallon water tank. Steam engines are in use to haul both freight and passenger consists around the 120 foot loop and over the curved trestle.

Locomotives are all manufactured by Bachmann and have various levels of modification; all but one have Phoenix sound installed. Rolling stock is a combination of Accucraft, AMS, Bachmann, and scratch built.
