Bernie & Dolores Rich

The Pelican Pass Railroad is over twenty years old. In 2009, after our open house, we transferred the fish to holding tanks and emptied the pond. We dismantled the mountain along with two bridges and the stone surrounding the pond to remove the liner. The reason for this was we had discovered bulges on the sides of the pond that was caused by the top soil collapsing. We did keep the shape and size of the pond, but this time we bricked the walls and then installed a new liner.

The mountain size and shape was changed and now includes two streams and waterfalls. Two skimmers were also added on the north end of the pond. The vegetation pond was modified to improve back flushing capabilities. There is over 1100 ft. of track and 46 remote turnouts and a town with paved streets.
