Alvin & Jeannie Benson

The A&R Railroad is named for Al and Ron, our neighbors, who helped build the layout and structures. There are four lines that include 10-12ft curves. All the track is laid in granite grit.

Each circuit has its own personality with town and farm settings. There are two tunnels on the two lower loops, a large pond with a waterfall and a stream stocked with goldfish. One loop goes around the pond while the other loop circles the entire garden.

All structures are scratch build and kit made. All structures are made of wood. Many of the buildings were made and given to us by David McMinn. Others were made by our interested neighbors. We model both steam and diesel engines.
