Joe & Jeanne Becker

The S&SRR is in its sixth year of operation. Our garden railroad is modeled after the Rio Grande Southern that ran in southwestern Colorado from 1890 through 1950. Four hundred feet of track cross four trestles and two pony truss bridges. The track runs along the periphery of the yard, forming a "U" with two return loops, one of which is in the shape of a figure 8.

Visitors will see scratch-built models of the Dolores and Ophir train depots, an aerial mining tram along with a variety of rolling stock associated with that period of railroad history.
